Overview:            

Part-Time News Photographer Job Description:

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for shooting and editing news stories as assigned by Assignment Manager or News Producer for use in daily news broadcasts and/or special assignments.
2. Shoots and produces video that is relevant to the story, and assists in generating story ideas.
3. Edits raw video (using both linear and non-linear systems) to create newscast quality video for broadcast.
4. Works collaboratively with reporter(s) in deciding the direction of assigned stories and in editing to match audio script.
5. Gathers interviews for news stories as required.
6. If equipment must be repaired by engineering, photographers submit appropriate work-orders and coordinate downtime/repairs with Chief Photographer.
7. Operates live truck safely and efficiently. Maintain established standards of cleanliness and maintenance for live truck.
8. Maintain positive work environment and winning attitude through active team participation.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
1. 4-year college degree or 2-year technical degree preferred or equivalent experience in television production or similar work experience.

2. Working knowledge of television news photography and technology.

3. Must be able to shoot with a DVC Pro Camera and edit under deadline pressure.

4. Must be able to operate live microwave equipment.

5. Bilingual/English-Spanish

6. Driving Requirement: Must have or be able to obtain Texas Drivers License, and have good   

    driving record.

7. Lifting/Physical requirements: Must be capable of working outdoors in all weather conditions and be able to lift 65-70 lbs
